Venice Neighborhood Council

Dear Friend,

I would like to invite you to attend a Veterans Town Hall on November 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wadsworth Theatre, which is on the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Campus, to listen to veterans tell the community their experiences about going to war.

This unique event, inspired by Sebastian Junger, is a community forum that aims to establish a greater understanding between local veterans and the friends and neighbors for whom they fought. In the tradition of warrior storytelling, veterans are invited to describe the pride, grief, rage, or quiet appreciation of life that war bestowed upon them. The role of non-veterans will be to attend, to listen, and to learn.

A gathering like this town hall will allow members of our district to learn about the complexities of war and acquire a better appreciation for our veterans who served. I would be grateful if you, your friends, and family would join me for this special event. Please feel free to share this invitation with your community and network. To RSVP, please go to
