Proposed mission: To support and advance the arts in Venice.

A: Mission Statement
Proposed: The mission of the Venice Neighborhood Council Arts Committee shall be "To Encourage and Advance the Arts in Venice

B: Goals

Venice is home to an immense wealth of art in almost every discipline. Whether in painting, sculpture, performance, literature, film, music, poetry, or many other arts, Venice has established its international reputation from our cultural heritage, much as it has from our legendary beaches.

The overriding goals of the Neighborhood Council Art Committee will be to:

- preserve Venice as a vital community that welcomes all to share in our cultural abundance, and, in return, to reach out to share our legacy far beyond our own borders

- create a level playing field where all of Venice
